The Feadship AI research initiative AURORA has been awarded funding by Nederland Maritiem Land under the Maritime Innovation Impulse Programme, a Dutch subsidy scheme supporting innovation and feasibility studies within the maritime sector, formally initiating the programme.

As the first subsidised initiative within our organisation dedicated entirely to artificial intelligence, AURORA represents an important step in exploring how AI can responsibly support future ship design workflows.

At the core of the initiative lies an ambitious CFD data generation programme. Approximately 3,500 high-fidelity CFD simulations will be conducted, forming the foundation for AI-based resistance prediction and hull optimisation.

By combining advanced hydrodynamic research with carefully developed AI models, AURORA aims to strengthen data-driven design capability while maintaining the precision and engineering integrity that define our approach.
