What would happen if Feadship's designers blended decades of owner know-how with the boldest visions yet to see the light of day? The answer is Pure, an 81.75-metre concept with the cleanest possible architecture, next-generation yacht control and a propulsion system ready for the fuels of the future. As futuristic as she looks, construction could start tomorrow.
Windows to the world
Pure's muscular profile is deceptively simple, lines drawn as cleanly as possible, merging seamlessly with the volumes. Flush windows go further still, with a ceramic composition called frit baked into the glass: black on the inside so those on board can see out, white on the outside so the world cannot see in. Approaching her stripped-back exterior, guests will be unsure how large the yacht truly is, which makes the discovery within all the more spellbinding.
Lines of connection
At the heart of Pure is an extraordinary elliptical glass atrium connecting all lines of sight across three decks. Sunlight streams from an open oval in the sun deck, cascades through the owner's deck terrace and warms the swimming pool below — light that continues through the glass floor all the way down to the spa. "Exceptional views are available from wherever you stand," says designer Jan Schaffers. "It stimulates you to explore."
A brief tour of Pure
Pure has five fully functioning decks. The main deck arrival is dramatic — a shaft of light from the sun deck above, cascading views to the beach club below. The sun deck features a Jacuzzi, fire pits and a dining area surrounding the elliptical skylight. Forward on the owners' deck, the expansive master stateroom takes the prime position made possible by the absence of a conventional wheelhouse, with a private Jacuzzi nestled into the foredeck.
Concealed Command Centre
Pure has no bridge deck. Instead, she is navigated from a concealed Command Centre below decks, where radar, AIS, depth sounders and cameras feed data through artificial intelligence onto a curved augmented reality screen. The Feadship Foresight programme supports the captain with routing, situational awareness and fuel efficiency. Wing controls on the owners' deck and a helm station on the sun deck serve as backup. "Such solutions are already common on subs and naval vessels," says Bram Jongepier. "The Command Centre is a viable solution — and a big topic for discussion within the industry."

Pure is an energy hybrid, her fuel-flexible engine room designed to adapt as technologies evolve. At launch: diesel electric with battery and renewable diesel capability, with a range of 7,000 NM. By 2027: methanol-capable generators with a significantly reduced environmental footprint. By 2030: all-methanol fuel cells with near-zero harmful emissions and a range of around 5,000 NM — a realistic target for an 80-metre-plus Feadship.
