At her launch in 1954 Istros was one of the largest motoryachts ever built in the Netherlands. Journalists were astonished by the advanced radar system and, most of all, a white telephone which could be used to “call people anywhere in the word from wherever in the world the yacht may be.” Istros was completely rebuilt in 2020 and given an all-new aluminium superstructure while retaining the elegant original hull. She was also recreated to the highest standards with an eco-conscious, including the first ever installation of a Lloyd’s-approved microturbine generator on a superyacht.
