Designed in Switzerland and built in 1956 by shipyard Nicolaas Witsen & Vis in Alkmaar: the12.32-metre hydrofoil Witvis was used as workboat. Although it was equipped with a relatively small propeller – with her twin 235hp engines @ 3,000 rpm – she was able to reach a maximum speed of nearly 75 kilometers per hour.
