Fun & games ahead for new Feadship CID

Behind every Feadship is a great story and the recently launched all-aluminium CID is no exception. This plumb-bowed beauty has been created for a gentleman who enjoys spending time on the water with his friends, many of whom also own motoryachts. The challenge was that their South American playground includes smaller bays and marinas that are out of bounds to larger Feadships. The client required Feadship quality so the best solution was to have one built in a 35-metre size. It’s been a great experience for him and everyone involved in the build.

CID was launched in the presence of the client, one of the many times he visited our yard in Aalsmeer. The launch party included a maiden tour of the local Dutch canals, and the client even took part in two days of sea trials in the North Sea and around the Wadden islands. The yacht will now spend a month in the Med before being transported to Acapulco where she’ll reconnoitre Mexico’s west coast and the Baja California Peninsula. Her excellent seakeeping and top speed of 20 knots will allow swift movement between the various new adventures.

This cool and contemporary Feadship is a true marriage of function and form. Take the giant windows, for example. As you can see, these huge slabs of glass look spectacular in the profile but they also mean that all on board get to view their surroundings in the best possible way. Because the client loves driving his boat, we’ve placed a fixed bimini on the flybridge to give shade to the helm there. By the way, the top deck is the largest in length ratio seen on a Feadship and with its giant table, reclinable sunlounger areas and large pop-out TV will be the social hub on CID.

The interior is geared to practical use within a sophisticated jacket. Wooden floors are fitted throughout the main deck, there’s a giant TV and big screen projector in the main lounge so guests can watch two sports events simultaneously, and all the crockery is made from melamine for extra resilience. This is a Feadship made for fun that was really fun to make. Have a great time all who step aboard!
