In an inspiring development that reflects our standing in terms of maritime expertise, Feadship has been asked to join the MARIN Stakeholders Association (MSA). The MSA is a unique partnership between one of the world’s leading knowledge institutes and leaders in their business sector.

“We are delighted that an important Dutch yacht builder such as Feadship has joined the MSA,” said MARIN Supervisory Board chairman Sjef van Dooremalen during the signing ceremony at the Feadship De Voogt office. “Feadship’s input to our Advisory Board will be essential in determining the future direction of our research as MARIN strives to contribute to the ongoing success of this innovative sector.”

The MSA was founded in 2003 to strengthen ties between MARIN and the maritime sector. The companies involved and the municipality of Wageningen have formed a guarantee fund for the institute. They are also active members of the MARIN advisory board, which also includes scientists and the Dutch ministries of Defence, Infrastructure and the Environment, and Economic Affairs.

Feadship De Voogt director Otwin Günther is also pleased to be part of this forward thinking body: “Joining MSA fits well with our strategy at Feadship to be best in class in terms of technological advances. A close partnership with a knowledge institute such as MARIN has an essential role to play as we strive to take perfect craftsmanship to new heights and meet the forward-thinking demands of Feadship owners.”

Back story: The Netherlands Maritime Research Institute (MARIN) was founded in 1932 and uses its test facilities, simulators, calculations, measurements and recommendations to make ships cleaner, smarter and safer. Located in Wageningen and employing some 375 experts, MARIN is the world’s largest independent maritime research institute.
